{Friday Favorites} Ghana Planeteers

When reflecting on the success of Captain Planet, I must say that arguably one of our greatest accomplishments is the creation of the Planeteers. The Planeteers’ movement is a truly global movement that has withstood the test of time and trend. All over the world Planeteers make a difference in their communities, and their ranks continue to grow. My good friend Barbara Pyle co-created Captain Planet with my father. Today, she serves on the board of the Captain Planet Foundation and is the driving force behind the Planeteer movement. Recently, she shared with me some news about the Ghana Planeteers.

On Oct. 15t, the Ghana Planeteers partnered with the Be Bold Group in a massive clean-up project in Accra, Ghana. Check out their pictures here

On Oct. 21, they embarked on an educational trip to a junior high school in Accra. The objective was to educate the students on source separation and set up a Planeteer club at the school. Check out the pictures from the event here

For the remainder of October, the Ghana Planeteers focused on recruitment and education on Source Separation with a target minimum of 4 schools.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, they will conduct a beach clean-up exercise in Accra.

Inspiring, right?

The Planeteer Movement is represented on six of our seven continents and continues to grow. You can see if your city has a Planeteer network here , and if not, it’s easy to create one!

The Planeteer Movement embodies what Captain Planet is all about. Global solutions and change starts in the backyards and homes of every individual.

Join me and become a Planeteer today!

Indeed the movement is growing. Ghanaian’s are really embracing the concept and we believe that we can extend it to the rest of Africa.
