{ Friday Favorites } Mascara

I keep a pretty busy schedule as an activist, and am constantly having my picture taken. It’s important to look my best and I want to share one of the amazing products I use. As many of you ladies out there know, mascara is one of the most key items in any cosmetic arsenal. Of course, you have to be careful when choosing a product that will be near your eyes, one of our most sensitive areas.

Personally,  I love Blinc Mascara. Blinc has no parabens, lead and is also non-chemical. Unlike conventional mascara, Blinc does not paint your lashes; it forms tiny water-resistant “tubes” around your lashes. Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. However, all you have to do to remove the mascara is use some warm water and the friction of a wash cloth or even just your fingers, and the tubes will slide right off your lashes and into your hands. This makes the product doubly effective in warding away toxic chemicals from our face, because you no longer need to use toxic eye makeup remover. On top of everything else, Blinc gives back to the community by supporting a number of charities concerned with health and the care of our children.

One of the most amazing things about choosing an eco-friendly lifestyle is learning about all the innovation out there, how people have taken their passion and produced products that make a positive impact, but also meet our everyday needs. Stepping outside of the box and going against harmful industry standards should be rewarded. I hope everyone will do a little research and find the companies out there that make healthier, kinder and greener choices!

I don’t generally wear mascara but I ordered some blinc mascara and I love it! I wear it everyday. However, the statement that blinc mascara doesn’t contain parabens is untrue. Blinc states on their website that the primer doesn’t contain parabens, but they don’t make the same claim about the mascara. The tube I have contains ethylparaben.
